Incentives for shooting a film in New Mexico are as broad and well-rounded as any state in the country.
Although the beauty of the landscape and the extent of the financial packages offered are respectable, its greatest incentive is the Green Filmmaking Program.
This program is voluntary and its main purpose is to promote environmentally insightful film production. In addition New Mexico offers a 25% tax rebate on in-state spending and production companies are reimbursed 50% of a participant’s wages for up to 1,040 hours worked by a crew member in a specialized craft position.
Film investment loans are available for up to $15 million, and there is no looming state sales tax.
